Santa and Sanita

We have such wonderful babysitters here. Santa and Sanita are twins and they are awesome! We met them at church and they used to babysit for another American family occasionally, but we kind of took them over when we got there. It was so nice to have twins because the kids didn't realize for quite a while they were 2 different people, so they only had to get used to one person. And sometimes they would come together and it was nice, for them to have 2 people for 3 kids. The first time Isabel saw them together, she really freaked out. She was so confused, when I got home she went straight to me and was really upset, then she got over it and started playing with Sanita, the one she thought babysat her more, she was pretty confused. When we came back from America with Isabel, they were really nervous about babysitting her. They weren't used to babies. At that time, they only babysat while I was still home. I didn't leave them alone with the baby, they were pretty nervous. I had my russian teacher come to my house and one of them would watch the kids while I had my class. They learned a lot about babies. When we finally felt comfortable enough to go out at night without all the kids, it was about a year later, I think I waited till a wasn't nursing her anymore. I got Sawyer to sleep before they came, Lincoln stayed up and Isabel. After Lincoln went to bed one of them walked around with Isabel in my baby ergo till she fell asleep, then basically stayed put. They had to double team it. Our kids are great kids, but night time is not our strong point. But I was very impressed last week when we left all the kids up, not expecting them to be asleep before we got home. It was only Sanita, since her twin Santa took off to Greece for the summer. Sanita got all 3 kids to bed. That was very impressive, Kelly and I were able to stay out later and grab a bite to eat.

We had a little farewell with the girls before Santa left. They came over and made dinner with the kids. It was delicious. They made a Latvian tomato and cucumber salad, meatballs, and small meat pie things. It was a ton of fun and really good food. Thanks girls for helping us out these past 2 years. We will miss you guys!!!

You know, we are actually going to be out in the UT/WY area the last week of July and first week of August. Let's be in touch as it gets closer and see if we can't find some miraculous way to make a little get-together happen!!
