Dunte
We took a trip to Dunte at the end of April. It was a really fun trip. It is about 45 mins north of us along the coast. We had been there before, last year, but I had forgotten my camera, so we were glad to visit it again. We invited some of our friends to join: Kate Smith and her family, Amy, Ammon, and Darius Cheskin, and The Bailey's: Heath, Melinda, Luke, Anna, Molly and Daisy, and they took a friend with them.
Dunte is a very small town that has a really cool wooden pirate ship/playground for kids. We started off playing on this really cool ship, then ate a picnic lunch while finding many frogs. Then we took a long walk across wooden boards to the beach. I just love the forest in Latvia. The Latvians love nature and take good care of it. All along the path they have made animals and many different things out of wood. Last year we had a map and they kids had to find these things on the map. It sure made the walk doable. We played on the beach once we got there, but it wasn't quite Spring yet, there was ice still on the water and the path to the beach was really rough in spots, pushing strollers over snow on narrow boards got a little exciting. All in all it was a fun Saturday! I sure am going to miss Latvia.
