Spring in Latvia!
The big snow melt in March!!! The snow finally started to melt in March. It was still pretty cold, but the snow was melting. It was very very wet also. this kids love playing in the water outside. They have these huge mountains of snow, where they pushed it out of the way. So as the snow melts and get cold again they turn into big dirty ice hills. Lincoln and Sawyer just loved playing on them and sliding down them. It's so much fun to be a kid. Isabel also started to learn how to walk in her boots, so she decided she didn't want to sit in the stroller anymore. Every time we would leave the house she would scream and scream if I tried to put her in the stroller. So we really couldn't get far anytime soon. Finally, after forcing her, she has decided it's not so bad sitting in the stroller. I will let her walk as much as I can, if we don't need to get anywhere. But we first have to get to a safe place, to the park or something, so we don't have to worry about cars.
Here's some pictures of the snow melting, the big, huge dirty hill the kids slide down, and the boys riding their bikes, scooters on the finally clear sidewalks. There is also one of the boys looking at the statue of Pushkin they put in the park. Pushkin is a very very popular Russian Poet. He died a long time ago of course, but the Russian grow up memorizing his poems. This statue was put in the park about the time we moved here. I hear their was some controversy since he is a Russian poet, not Latvian. People are always leaving flowers on the statue.
