March 10th Sawyers Birthday!

Warning, Long post, trying to catch up, I want to do a book so i don't want to forget these things.

Sawyer turned 3!!! He is such a big boy. I can't believe how fast he has grown. Sawyer is such a loving boy. He loves his mama and is always always always climbing on me. He just always wants to be by me. He loves to play with Lincoln and Isabel. He follows Isabel around all the time. It is so fun to watch them. Sawyer rides his tricycle all around the house following Isabel while she pushes her stroller. She often turns around making sure he is behind her. She usually ends up in her room reading her books. And Sawyer and Lincoln like to make a good book reading place for her. Sawyer just LOVES Airplanes. My mom made him an adorable airplane blanket and a pillowcase for his birthday. I also got some airplane wall stickers for his room. He was so excited. I put it on him during the night and he was pretty happy to wake up to a warm airplane blanket. Before he goes to sleep at night he has me keep the light on so he can find the right place to lay on his airplane blanket. He points to the ones that are his favorite and often says "mama, I wuv my airplane blanket".

Sawyer also is a dog lover. He has always loved dogs. I really really want to get a dog for my kids. I just don't want to have to do all the work. Maybe when they are older and they can take on some of the responsibility. Lincoln and Sawyer go to a small preschool a friend of mine does. She used to teach preschool all the time to 5 year olds, but we could only find a few kids ages: 2, 3, 4, 5. THere are 5 in the class and she has her work cut out for her. Let's just say she is not going to do this next year. They have a dog named Skittle. And Sawyer is in love with their dog. It is a golden retriever and they are great buds. Melinda says that during circle time Skittle sits right next to Sawyer and puts her paw on her. Sawyer reads her a doggie book all the time and always shares his snack with Skittle. One time Sawyer got hurt and was really upset. Skittle would not go away from him, she was worried about him. See how much we need a dog. I'm just glad we get one twice a week.
He has also made up his own words to the song: "Hey Skittle Skittle, the Cat and the Fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon, the little dog laughed to see such a sight and Skittle ran away with the spoon"

Sawyer has also been having some pooping problems. I feel so bad that I didn't do anything about this earlier, but I didn't notice it so much until he was potty trained. He always had trouble pooping, and didn't do it everyday, maybe 3 times a week. More likely 2 times. He was awesome getting potty trained though. He just basically did it on his own. It was in January and he just was done with diapers. I had left him naked a lot because he would pee in the toilet if he didn't have any underwear on, but once I put underwear on he would think he could pee in it. The first time it happened he said "hey mom, it has a hole in it". That was in the Fall, we kept going back and forth, then in January he decided he knew he couldn't pee in his underwear and that was that. He hasn't worn a diaper since. He also did so good with night training. I just noticed, a few days after he was officially potty trained, that he was waking up dry every morning. So I decided to try it. And he never had an accident, until this past week. Don't know what is up, it is May and he was dry all the time in January, but now for some reason he is having accidents. Anyway, after he was potty trained it was hard for him to poop. He would only poop, maybe 2 times a week and then he would have to sit on the toilet all day long. I felt so bad for him, but didn't realize how bad it would be for him until I asked a Doctor. I am pleased to say, after a couple of months of Miralax, this little boy goes everyday and it doesn't take long and he doesn't complain about it. It is soooo wonderful. I was planning on writing a blog post about it, but didn't get around to it, so I kept some notes on my computer about it, so I will add it to this:

"I have the most adorable kids. Lincoln is so caring. He is definantly crazy a lot of the time, and doesn’t realize how strong he is, but he also really takes good care of his brother and sister. Sawyer has been having a hard time pooping. I feel so bad for him. He sat on the toilet all day yesterday and still didnt’ poop and this afternoon, when he woke up from a nap in the stroller, he was playing with Lincoln and then had an accident. He had never had an accident since he has been potty trained. So he felt so bad and was crying and saying “mom, no don’t look at me”. So I carried him to the toilet and he was really upset, but I knew he really really had to poop and was not feeling very well. So Lincoln and I kept telling Sawyer how it’s okay to have an accident, it happens to everyone. It’s no big deal. Then Lincoln went into his room and brought Sawyer out new pants and underwear. Very cute. “See look Sawyer you can just get some new ones” Then he brought some books for him to read while he sat there and eventually brought in his “Dragon” movie so they could watch it together. Seriously, poor Sawyer, it is so hard for him sometimes. He only does it every few days and I think that is why it is so hard for him, it is just a lot to get out and it hurts. Anyway, later on, the boys were playing a computer game on PBS.org. Lincoln and Sawyer were taking turns, when it was too hard for Sawyer, he would let Lincoln do it, when it was easy, Lincoln would let Sawyer do it. I just love how Lincoln puts his hand on Saywers back as he is trying to teach him something. So incredibly cute." I think this was in February 2011

We had a fun birthday party for Sawyer. We had a small family one on his birthday, then a week later had his first friends birthday party. I invited too many people. Not sure how to do birthday parties around here. It seems like both parents come, so you end up with a ton of people. I tried to have some airplane games, but it was hard with so many people. I made a pin the Pilot Sawyer in the cockpit. A few of the kids played that. Then we had airplane racing down our hall. I wanted to go outside, but it snowed the night before. Oh well. Poor Sawyer had to poop right before the first people came so he was on the toilet reading a book with his birthday hat on. Lincoln put on Sawyer's pilot costume and greeted kids who came to the door giving them airplane tickets. Not sure what I wanted to do with them, but I thought it would be fun for the kids to pretend.
It turned out pretty good. Luckily Sawyer didn't have to be on the pot too long.

Happy Birthday my adorable, loving, sweet Three year old Sawyer!!!
