March Happenings Part 1

Happenings in March

I have been doing a preschool coop with Izzy and her friends.  It has been a lot of fun this past year.  Here they are being cats.
Lincoln and Sawyer's school did an Art project and put it on display at the Mall.  They have an amazing art teacher.  Each class had a different theme, life around Chengdu, and they made a really cool art display.  Lincoln's class did these canoe boats, and Sawyers was portraying a play place they like to play in Chengdu.  Their teacher asked the kids what they liked to do and of course all the kids said Play, so they went on a field trip to a play place and them created their art piece.  Really cool!

Mabel just loves it when Izzy puts on the Pooh Bear costume!
They had International Day at Sawyers school and his class made a book together.  Each child had their own page.  they all wrote about where they are from.  Since his friend Aaron moved away, Sawyer was now they only kid in his class from America.  So Sawyer and his teacher each did a page on the United States.  He was so cute when he presented it.  I just realized this picture has him showing someone else's page.  Oops.  It is pretty cool, all they kids are from all over.  And about half didn't know English before school started.  Those kids sure learn quickly.  Sawyers new best friend is Tovi and he just moved to China in October, from South America.  He did not know any  English before, but now he can say everything he wants to and he just loves Sawyer.

Mabel loves to crawl under the table with a marker and draw all over herself!!!

Lincoln had to write a "How To" paper.  He had to write in detail instructions on how to make something.  He chose Blue Goo.  He did a really good job, when he finally got on the right track.  He wanted to do something way too complicated, but we didn't know what he was supposed to be doing, so his teacher was getting a bit upset that he wasn't on the ball, I think he was a little overwhelmed.  But he finally figured it out and it turned out great.

Kelly and I went on a date with some friends to this place where you go into a small room and you have clues and you are supposed to try and figure out how to get out.  Each clue that you figure out would take you to another room.  It was really fun, but very difficult when all the clues are written in Chinese Characters.  Luckily the guys knew how to read, but it was still really hard because they couldn't read all the Characters.  We didn't make it out in under an hour, but they still let us take a picture of our group in all these costumes!!  Fun Times!!

Strawberry Picking
We took the kids to a place to pick strawberries.  The kids each had a basket to pick with and they picked a ton.  We ended up paying way more for the strawberries than we expected, but they were so juicy!!!  So delicious!!!

I think she likes it!!!
