Kelly became an official Foreign Service officer last Friday.  It was really neat to watch.  They had an Oath of Office they had to repeat.  The ceremony was held in The Diplomatic Reception Room at the Department of State.  This is where the Secretary of State, the Vice President, and Members of the Cabinet entertain the leaders of the world.  These rooms are like museums.  They even had desk the Treaty of Paris was signed in  1783.  Here are some pictures of the rooms and of Kelly becoming official.
