Flag Day

I just thought these pictures were cute.  Lincoln got some of his own medicine.

Well, only 6 days left till Flag Day.  For those of you who don't know, flag day is the day we are going to find out where in the world we are going to be living for the next few years.  Kelly started his new job at the State Department as a foreign service officer in the beginning of November.  For the first 6 weeks he is in training.  During this time they gave us a list of all the available posts in the different embassies and consulates throughout the world.  We had to rate all 60 of the posts:  High, Medium +, Medium, or Low.  Afghanistan and Pakistan were some of our lows, and our highs were:  Vietnam, Tel Aviv, Latvia, Nepal, Austria, Poland, Romania, Portugal, Turkey, Moracco, China and Greece.  There are a bunch more in the Medium area:  India, Kenya, Tunsania, Dominican Republic and some others.  So now it is just a waiting game.  This coming Monday is the day we find out.  So we will let you know.  Hopefully we get one of our Highs or medium +s, we will see.  We are preparing ourselves for Jaurez, Mexico, we totally don't want to go there, but if we get that flag we are trying to prepare ourselves for the nice 5 hour drive to kelly's parents house from there.

We will keep you posted.  Hopefully we go somewhere fun so we can have a lot of visitors.

Oh I hope you don't go to Juarez. I've been there several times and it is awful. I'm sure you know of all the stuff that is going on there right now. Good Luck!

Good luck.

Your list seems similar to what mine would be, except I'd have Tunisia higher and Portugal (my bias for Spain) and the Slavic countries lower.

Good luck avoiding Afganistan and Juarez.

What an adventure! We'll keep our fingers crossed that you end up in one of the high/medium locations. I don't think I'd want to live in Afghanistan or Pakistan, either. We need to get together before you guys leave!
