Lincoln gets Baptized in Utah

After Christmas, we flew to Utah to see my family.  Lincoln's birthday is 2 days after christmas, and he was turning 8 years old.  It was so nice to be in Utah with family for Lincoln's baptism.  Kelly's parents flew up for a couple of days and Kelly's brother Kevin and his family were in Utah for Christmas, so they were able to be there for his baptism.  We almost had everyone there.  Kelly's other brother Keith and his family weren't able to make in and my brother's family Beth, Dylan and Jack had to miss because poor Dylan had the flu!  Poor guy, he came down with it the day we flew to Utah.  The kids were so excited to play with Dylan, then he had to stay away for about 6 days.  Luckily he was feeling better a few days before we left, so they were able to play with him.

I'm so proud of Lincoln and for his decision to get baptized.  He is growing up to be such a wonderful boy.  He is very conscience of doing what is right, maybe not all the time to his siblings, but I see how considerate to others and he is very careful about not getting into trouble at school.  When kids are acting up in line, he moves away from them, not wanting to get into trouble.  Lincoln has a great bunch of boys his age at his school, QSI.  There are two 7 year old classes, mostly filled with boys.  He has about 6 or 7 boys that he really likes to hang out with.  One of which goes to church with us.  Although I have had some difficulty with Lincoln's teacher and the amount of homework she gives, I am very glad we chose this school.  You can't ask for a better group of friends for Lincoln.  He has started scouts and I am the den mom.  We have is every tuesday after school.  We all meet at the school, so the kids can take the after school bus home if needed.  It is a lot of work, but a lot of fun.  We have 6 boys in our group.  He is working toward getting his Wolf.  Sawyer will be starting scouts next year.

Lincoln is starting to really like to read.  He is now reading the first Percy Jackson book.  I thought it was way too hard for him, but he is getting it.  Kelly reads some chapters out loud to him to go threw it faster and to make sure he is understanding what he is reading.  I am teaching Lincoln piano and I really really wish I could find a good english speaking teacher for him, but for the time being I teach him.  We are working on having a good attitude whenever he practices, I'm hoping it will come sometime.

Lincoln is such a great boy and I can't believe he is already 8 years old.  Time flies!!!  He asked his Grandpa's on both sides speak during his baptism.  They did a wonderful job!  I'm so happy they could be there for this special day.
