School Starts for Lincoln and Sawyer

The summer has come to an end and the boys have started school.  By the end of the summer you can tell by the noise volume in the house and the increased amount of fighting, that school needs to start and it needs to start soon.  That's how we were feeling.  Luckily, it started only 4 days after we arrived in Chengdu.  The first day we just came to meet the teachers.  Sawyers teacher is Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Yoga (chinese teacher).  He quickly made a best friend Aaron, he lives upstairs from us and he is in our branch.  The teachers say they are always together.  Sawyer seems to really like school.  He gets to swim twice a week for gym class.  

Lincoln's teacher is Mrs. Kruger.  They have about 13 students in the class.  He has made some good friends.  One of his good friends is Blake, he is also an American, I think there are 4 American kids then the rest are all Asian/Korean.  Sawyer class is the same, I think Sawyer and Aaron are the only "white" kids and the rest are Asian.  Hopefully they will learn some Chinese.  They both have Chinese class for about an hour every day.  Nothing like Lincoln's school in Beijing, but Chengdu doesn't have as much to offer.  But it seems like the boys are really liking school.  

They have to wake up at 6:30 every morning, the bus picks them up at 7:15.  They get home at 3:45.  So it is a long day, especially for my little kindergartener.  I can't believe he is in kindergarten!!!!!  Every since school has started Sawyer and Lincoln have been getting along better.  Lincoln waits for Sawyer after lunch and they play these games together along with other kids from school.  School has really helped them bond more.  For a while there Sawyer and Izzy were playing so well together, but Sawyer did not want to play with Lincoln.  I think because Lincoln is just getting older and is more rough and Sawyer wanted to play with someone who would do what he says.  Now, Sawyer is not as nice to Izzy when he gets home, but Izzy and Mabel are really playing well together.  So I guess it comes and goes!  The house is much much quieter during the day!  School is GREAT!!!!
