Kelly's parents come for Christmas
Kelly's parents came to visit us for Christmas. It was so nice, I really can't believe they came to Beijing in the middle of the winter. A true sacrifice, especially since it is perfect in Arizona in December. They stayed for about 10 days. Our neighbors were leaving for 3 weeks and offered to let them stay in there house while they were gone. That was so nice, they could actually get a bed and some time by themselves to get over jet lag. Despite that fact that it was so terribly cold, we did get out and see some things. We took them to the great wall, but were not able to go too far, the wall was covered in ice. So we went up, walked a bit and turned around. The nice thing, is that is was not very crowded.
Kelly's mom looked a bit like a marshmellow with that huge coat. She was so bundled up, it was so cold. She even wore a mask to keep her face warm. I should have taken a picture of the mask she wore with little bunnies on them or cartoon characters. It is really funny to see so many adult chinese women wearing these masks with silly little pictures on it. Gail was just really getting into the culture. Good job Gail for trying to blend in.
Granny Gail is always prepared with fun things for the kids to do. As soon as the kids found out that they were coming Lincoln said: Oh good, now we will have a plan with fun things to do, Grandma always plans things. So, thanks grandma and grandpa for coming and making us have a wonderful Christmas Holiday. After this summer we will not be seeing them for 18 months, because they just got their mission call to Brazil!!!!! We are so excited for you guys!!! We love you!!!!
