The Great Wall of City in Mutianyu

Here we are at the Great Wall of China.  Kelly took a week off in August so we could tour around Beijing before Lincoln started school.  We planned it so that we would have our car by then and we would already have our shipment.  Well, things seemed to take so long that we  just barely got our car before his his week vacation.  But, our big shipment from Latvia came that first Monday.  So instead of touring around, we had to unpack our stuff.  We were of course so happy to get all our stuff, we just were annoyed that it didn't come the week before.  Despite that, we were able to get out and see things.  We took Monday and Tuesday organizing things,
and left for the Wall on Wednesday.  Our Ayi is amazing, she just ripped through those boxes.  She has done this before with other families.  She sure knew how to unpack.  She got my kitchen all set up so fast.  Man are we luckily.
So, here we are at the wall.  It was pretty hot, I mean really really hot.  We were drenched from sweat.  We took a gondola up to the top of the mountain.  Then we walked along the wall all the way down.  The kids did so good.  It was pretty far.  Isabel actually fell asleep on kelly's back as we neared the bottom.  Once we got to the bottom Kelly and I took the ski lift up on the other side and rode down the alpine slide with the boys.  We each took turns.  That was pretty cool.  The boys were pretty excited about that.

This was a much better and relaxing trip than the
Forbidden City trip.  Much less people.  It was during the week, so it wasn't crowded.  People would point at us and say "4 kids (sige haizi)!!!", but no one tried to touch the kids.  We had much more space and the kids could just to their thing without being crowded.  It was a pretty hot and muggy, so we couldn't see too far on the wall, but is was a really fun trip.
