Big News!!! FSO here we come!!!

After many years of thinking about joining the Foreign Service, we are finally doing it!!!  Kelly has been wanting to do this for a long time.  He took the Foreign Service exam while we were dating at BYU.  He passed the test, but didn't end up taking the oral exam because he decided to go to Law School.  So after Law School and 2 years of working at a firm, Kelly decided the law is not for him.  So he took the test again last fall and took the oral exam in April.  He has been waiting for his security clearance for the past 5 months and finally on Thursday he found out he got his security clearance and was put on the waiting list.  We called on Friday to see what number he was and they offered him a job starting November 5th.  We are soooo excited.  He only has 4 more weeks of law work, then on to a completely different life style.  During the 7 week training class you get to bid on a place to go, so by December we will know where we are off too.  I can't wait.  I will be sad to leave everyone here, but we will be back.  You come back between each tour and tour's are about 2-3 years.  So we will be back here in DC.  

The Great Wall of China is up because we will most likely be in China some of the time since Kelly knows chinese, way excited.
