Happy Fourth of July!

We have been having so much fun the past week and a half. Kelly's parents came into town. They stayed with us for a few days and then we stayed at a little cottage they rented by the Chesapeake near Annapolis, MD. They were at our house over the fourth, plus Kelly's brother and sister-in-law and their three kids stayed with us. It was a packed townhouse, but tons of fun. We went downtown with everyone to check out the monuments, but most were closed because they were getting ready for the fireworks, so we went to our favorite Smithsonian, the Natural History Museum. That night we went to the Iwo Jima memorial in Balston to watch the fire works. It's really neat to watch them on the hill by the memorial, you don't have to by downtown with all those people on the National Mall, you can watch them from the Iwo Jima memorial and they are just as good. Of course it had to rain though. We had all the kids and it was raining as we were walking to get a place to see the fireworks. We found some great trees to sit under to eat our Popeyes Chicken, not KFC, Kelly's family owns a bunch of Popeyes stores, so we can NEVER get KFC. Luckily it only sprinkled during the fireworks.
